Resources Community Infrastructure Fund

The Resources Community Infrastructure Fund supplements existing State investment in community infrastructure for resource communities.

Round 3 is fully funded by the Queensland Government, building on the Fund’s previous two rounds, which were a voluntary partnership between the Queensland Government and resources industry.

The fund assists with the construction of community infrastructure which includes new infrastructure, or the upgrade, extension, or replacement of existing infrastructure.

Funded projects

The list of projects funded under Rounds 1-3 is available below:

    • Airlie Beach Bowls Club - $1,000,000 for an all-weather dome roof over the bowls green
    • Bowen Community Council -$3,203,192to construct four, two-bedroom residential units for frontline community workers in Bowen
    • Central Highlands Regional Council - $1,500,000 for construction of a new clubhouse at Bridgeman Park sporting fields in Capella
    • Central Highlands Regional Council - $5,500,000 for upgrades to entertainment venues, Bauhinia Memorial Hall, Blackwater Civic Centre, Capella Cultural Centre and Emerald Town Hall
    • Central Highlands Regional Council - $6,000,000 for a new high-strength taxiway and pavement for RFDS aircraft at Emerald Airport
    • Central Highlands Regional Council - $7,000,000 for redevelopment of Emerald Botanical Gardens
    • Central Highlands Regional Council - $5,000,000 for stage 2 of the Springsure Aquatic Centre renewal including a heated pool
    • Central Highlands Regional Council -$3,192,000 for facilities upgrades, including a new rugby league field, at McIndoe Park in Emerald
    • Dysart Golf Club -$907,954 for redevelopment of the clubhouse to create a family-friendly community venue in Dysart
    • Dysart Golf Club - $486,195 for a fully integrated irrigation system at Dysart golf course
    • Isaac Affordable Housing Trust - $2,00,000 to build a block of three units for non-mining workers in Moranbah
    • Isaac Regional Council - $39,726,988 to construct a resources focused centre including education and future partnerships precincts
    • Moura Retirement Village - $5,149,010 to build six additional, two-bedroom residential units to increase retiree accommodation in Moura
    • Rural Medical Education Australia -$1,237,300 for construction of three residences for final-year medical students in Chinchilla
    • St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland - $5,897,817 to redevelop the existing St Vincent de Paul Society's community support centre in Biloela to facilitate the delivery of additional support services
    • Western Downs Regional Council - $14,193,584 to construct a new cultural centre in Dalby
    • Whitsunday Regional Council -$14,603,000 to redevelop the Collinsville Community Precinct
    • Whitsunday Regional Council - $1,602,960 to upgrade amenities at Denison Park Rugby League Grounds in Bowen

    • Banana Shire Council – $2,702,500 for a new splash park and playground in Biloela
    • Barcaldine Golf Club Inc. – $147,000 to install new male, female and accessible toilets and showers at the Barcaldine Golf Club
    • Castle Hill Spinney Ltd T/A Ronald McDonald House Charities North Australia – $250,000 for a modern, interactive playroom at Ronald McDonald House in Townsville
    • Central Highlands Community Services Ltd – $3,737,494 for a 24/7 digitally-capable collaborative work space in Emerald
    • Central Highlands Regional Council – $5,000,000 to upgrade the Springsure Aquatic Centre
    • Cloncurry Shire Council – $4,393,200 for a new childcare facility in Cloncurry
    • Collinsville Golf Club Inc. – $452,210 to renovate the Collinsville Golf Club's clubhouse
    • Emerald Karting Club Inc. - $991,300 for lighting to facilitate night time club and community activities
    • LifeFlight Foundation Ltd – $3,981,435 for a new aeromedical facility in Mount Isa
    • Mapoon Aboriginal Shire Council - $2,898,324 to upgrade and expand the Cullen Point Campground in Mapoon and develop a historical interpretation walk of the mission village building sites in the Old Mapoon Precinct
    • McKinlay Shire Council – $6,296,300 for a children's services hub in Julia Creek
    • Moranbah Netball Association Inc. - $590,931 to replace the Moranbah Netball Clubhouse and kiosk
    • Mount Isa City Council – $996,408 for an aqua play facility at the Splashez Aquatic Centre in Mount Isa
    • Palmyra Drag Racing Club Inc. – $951,010 for upgrades at the Palmyra Dragway, south west of Mackay
    • Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (Queensland Section) Ltd – $6,927,114 for a new aeromedical base in Mount Isa
    • St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland – $5,218,875 to redevelop the existing St Vincent de Paul Society's community support centre in Mackay to facilitate the delivery of integrated housing and support services
    • Weipa Town Authority - $3,330,000 for a modern and inclusive youth precinct and vibrant public space in Weipa
    • Whitsunday Regional Council – $1,815,083 to upgrade the Collinsville Aerodrome
    • Whitsunday Regional Council – $370,000 to refurbish the Collinsville Football Clubhouse
    • Woorabinda Aboriginal Shire Council - $1,660,971 for the Woorabinda Community Hub and Disaster Recovery Centre

    • AEIOU Foundation - $1,000,000 for a new Townsville early-intervention childcare centre
    • Bakers Creek Australian Football Club Inc. - $390,200 for field lighting for night matches and training at Bakers Creek, south of Mackay
    • Banana Shire Council - $6,000,000 for construction of the Moura Library and Museum, including a community services hub
    • Bowen Netball Association Inc. - $122,493 to surface grass netball courts in Bowen
    • Brothers Australian Football Club - $335,000 for upgraded field lighting at Kele Park in West Rockhampton
    • Central Highlands Community Services Ltd - $980,000 to expand existing Access Accommodation facilities with a new four-unit high-needs disability accommodation facility in Emerald
    • Central Highlands Regional Council - $245,000 to upgrade amenities at the Bedford Weir recreational and camping area near Blackwater
    • Central Highlands Science Centre Inc. - $1,000,000 to provide a permanent home for the Outback Exploratorium museum and science centre in Emerald
    • Charters Towers Regional Council - $7,800,000 to replace and expand the Kennedy Regiment Memorial Pool in Charters Towers
    • Cloncurry Justice Association - $619,255 for a Men’s Healing Shed in Cloncurry to help address domestic violence behaviours and support Indigenous low-level parolees
    • Cloncurry Shire Council - $834,000 for mobile and fixed sports grandstands, shade structures and facilities for players and officials at sports fields throughout the shire
    • Cook Shire Council - $1,448,725 to upgrade facilities at Coen Airport
    • Isaac Affordable Housing Trust - $8,000,000 to build 16 affordable housing units, including five that are suitable for tenants supported by the National Disability Insurance Scheme
    • Isaac Regional Council - $8,000,000 to redevelop the Moranbah Community Centre
    • Rockhampton Regional Council - $4,500,000 for redevelopment of the Mount Morgan Aquatic Centre
    • Roseberry Queensland - $864,688 to build a housing and homelessness support hub in Gladstone
    • Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (Queensland Section) Ltd - $695,000 for a new patient transfer facility in Emerald
    • Rural Medical Education Australia - $718,000 to construct the Chinchilla Clinical Training Centre, a hub for health training
    • Sarina and District Netball Association Inc - $441,295 for new netball courts in Sarina
