Have your say on our 20-year infrastructure strategy
Queenslanders are encouraged to have their say on the department’s 20-year infrastructure vision, with the draft State Infrastructure Strategy now open for consultation.
The draft strategy adopts a smarter approach to infrastructure. It’s all about enhancing sustainability and resilience, developing our regions and places, and encouraging jobs, growth and productivity.
Queensland is already poised for success, with Brisbane now an Olympic city, the population booming, and the potential to make Queensland a renewables and hydrogen superpower. The State Infrastructure Strategy will ensure we have the right infrastructure in place to achieve this future prosperity.
The draft strategy includes our approach to creating liveable communities. It’s about creating the schools, hospitals, roads and other essential infrastructure our growing state will need in the future. It also sets out to partner with industry so we make the most of our infrastructure planning and investments.
This is a strategy for all of Queensland, which is why it’s important to have your say.
Stakeholder engagement was a major factor in shaping the draft strategy. The department held 13 regional workshops across Queensland in 2021 and received over 200 online responses.
The final strategy will rely on further feedback from the communities it will serve. It’s important to set out the right priorities and reforms that will drive the future for Queensland.
You can have your say on the draft State Infrastructure Strategy until 7 October.
