The Queensland Government is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced parties or consortia interested in developing Village Centre North, the last vacant development release on The Spit. The successful developer will be offered a long-term leasehold interest over the land and adjoining seabed.

The Request for Expression of Interest is the first stage of the open market tender process and will close at 2pm (AEST), Wednesday 22 April 2026.

The Queensland Government is leading the implementation of The Spit Master Plan. This includes release of strategic development sites identified in the Master Plan.
Village Centre North is The Spit’s last vacant development site. It presents a rare opportunity to create a mixed-use tourism precinct on the Gold Coast, one of Australia’s premier tourist destinations.
