Be part of Brisbane’s next iconic destination

Formal market engagement: Gabba entertainment precinct

The Queensland Government is inviting private sector involvement in one of the most exciting legacy projects from the 2032 Games Delivery Plan — the development of a vibrant new entertainment and housing precinct in Woolloongabba.

As outlined in the 2032 Games Delivery Plan, this is a transformational opportunity for a world-class  entertainment venue in the Woolloongabba precinct. This central precinct will open the door to bigger and better sports and entertainment beyond 2032.

The project aims to unlock new opportunities for investment, innovation, and placemaking — transforming Woolloongabba into a world-class destination that will define the city's future and deliver a lasting legacy well beyond the Games.

This dynamic precinct will cover an area of more than 9 hectares, located within 2 kilometres of the Brisbane CBD and is directly connected to key public transport infrastructure with the Southeast busway and under construction Woolloongabba rail station that will move almost 18,000 each weekday.

This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a thriving inner-city hub that delivers a vibrant cultural, tourism, and lifestyle destination for locals and visitors alike.

Aligned with the Queensland Government’s commitment to delivering lasting infrastructure and strengthening communities, the precinct will unlock:

  • Tourism opportunities through major events, sports, and experiences
  • New investment attraction in hospitality, retail, and residential development
  • Increased housing and urban activation in one of Australia’s fastest growing cities
  • A showcase for innovation and design in Brisbane’s inner south
  • Access and connectivity to the Cross River Rail line, minutes from the CBD

The Queensland Government is developing a competitive market process under which the private sector will be invited to submit proposals for the development of the precinct.

Private sector entities are invited to register to receive updates about the market engagement process. This is your opportunity to learn how you can help deliver a legacy project that will shape Brisbane’s future for decades to come.
