Lockheed Martin Australia

Lockheed Martin Australia has been awarded funding under the Queensland Government’s Sovereign Industry Development Fund to establish a mobile rocket test and evaluation capability accelerating research and development of high-speed flight technologies with defence and aerospace applications.

Delivered in partnership with The University of Queensland, Airways Trade Australia, and Rocket Technologies International, the investment involves development of a mobile launch rail and supporting test range infrastructure for experimental rocket launches, alongside a Queensland-made rocket motor booster capability for high-speed flight testing.

The project will strengthen Queensland’s position with national and international defence partners as a location primed for research and development, test and evaluation of experimental rocket technologies, and rocket motor manufacturing.
