Leidos Australia has been awarded funding under the Queensland Government’s Sovereign Industry Development Fund to expand the delivery capacity of critical defence mission systems from Cairns.

The investment will involve the relocation and upgrade of the existing Mission Equipment Service Centre to maintain and increase the capacity of advanced airborne radar and electro-optic systems that are critical to specialised defence operations and Australia’s sovereign capability.

The project will strengthen Queensland’s position as a key location for defence industry growth and support services to reduce reliance on offshore maintenance and create more skilled jobs across the local supply chain.
