BioOra
New Zealand-based biomedical manufacturing organisation BioOra has been awarded funding under the Queensland Government’s Sovereign Industry Development Fund to establish its first Australian operations in Queensland.
The investment will see BioOra establish automated CAR T-cell manufacturing capability at ENTRI, based at the Boggo Road Innovation Junction in Woolloongabba.
CAR T-cell therapies are a form of personalised cancer treatment that use a patient’s own immune cells to target and destroy cancer.
The project will support more efficient and scalable local production of these therapies, reducing reliance on overseas manufacturing, improving patient access to cutting-edge treatments and strengthening Queensland’s position in a rapidly growing global sector.
