South East Queensland
South East Queensland is a large geographically and economically diverse region. It stretches north from the Brisbane River through the local government areas of Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa.
The region continues to the south, comprises the local government areas of Gold Coast, Logan and Redland City Councils.
To the west, South East Queensland covers the local government areas of Ipswich City Council, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset Regional Councils as well as the Brisbane City Council suburbs south of the Brisbane River.

The Mill development (Moreton Bay)
The Mill at Moreton Bay Priority Development Area will facilitate the development of the University of the Sunshine Coast Moreton Bay campus. It aims to fast-track transport-related development in the existing Petrie Town Centre and land near the Kallangur and Lawnton train stations. It includes the existing Petrie Town Centre to the west of Petrie Station and land to the south of the new Kallangur station and covers an area of approximately 460 hectares.
The redevelopment of the former paper mill site will include the construction of the University of the Sunshine Coast Moreton Bay campus, new health, retail, commercial and residential developments and community infrastructure.
Education
Logan Hospital expansion
Expansions and improvements at the Logan Hospital site will include the Stage 1 Expansion that will provide 206 additional beds, the rapid expansion modular ward with 28 new beds, and the maternity refurbishment project. This also includes the $530 million Stage 2 Expansion of the Logan Hospital, which will significantly boost capacity by delivering around 112 extra overnight beds as well as more surgical theatres. It will enable the hospital to deliver an increased range of services locally, allowing even more locals to receive care closer to home.

Gold Coast light rail
Gold Coast Light Rail (Stage 3), Broadbeach South to Burleigh Heads, extending the light rail from Broadbeach South to Burleigh Heads. This project will connect communities with business and jobs, hospitals and medical facilities, education, shopping, dining, entertainment and sporting centres. Delivered in partnership with the Australian Government and the Gold Coast City Council.
