Description Developing waste processing infrastructure in SEQ that will increase resource recovery rates, facilitate organics recycling and progress the region towards a circular economy.

  • Q4 2023 Scope of initiatives and projects agreed by the Australian Government, Queensland Government and Local Government
  • Q1 2024 Projects announced
  • Q2 2024 Project Plans agreed and projects commence
  • Q2 2026 Completion of projects

Future milestones are subject to negotiation and will be identified and outlined through reporting processes

Responsibility

Led by the Queensland Government in partnership with industry and participating Local Government members of the Council of Mayors (SEQ) who will deliver projects in consultation with the Australian Government.
