Redland Housing Strategy
The Queensland Government is preparing the Redland Housing Strategy.
Development of the strategy aims to create a pathway to greater housing supply and diversity in the right locations to meet the needs of both current and future populations for the Redlands to 2046.
The strategy works in conjunction with planning for the ShapingSEQ 2023 update and identifies mechanisms to facilitate improved planning and encourage development to ensure everyone has access to the type of housing they need.
Consultation opportunities
During preliminary consultation in June 2023, the Redland community shared their views and values towards planning for housing supply and diversity through in-person events and an online survey.
The community input gathered during the consultation guided preparation of the draft Redland Housing Strategy. This was published in October 2023 and the community was invited to view the draft strategy and provide feedback. This feedback will inform the finalisation of the strategy, which is expected to be released in early 2024.
