Declared on 27 March 2008 and located six kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, the Northshore Hamilton Priority Development Area (PDA) covers 304-hectares of land, with a two-kilometre river frontage.

The Northshore Hamilton PDA includes land between Kingsford Smith Drive and the Brisbane River, extending from Bretts Wharf to the west and the Gateway Motorway to the east.

The Northshore Hamilton PDA is close to some of Brisbane's most important economic drivers, including the Brisbane Airport and the Australia Trade Coast precinct.

All development applications for the Northshore Hamilton Priority Development Area are to be lodged with and assessed by the department.

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) has now commenced a review of the Northshore Hamilton PDA Development Scheme.

In May 2016, as part of Stage 1 – Information Review, EDQ gathered the community's feedback through two community information sessions and an online survey.

EDQ has now progressed to Stage 2 – Planning Options Analysis. This will involve reporting back to the community the key issues raised during the community consultation in Stage 1.

Note: In February 2013 the Urban Land Development Act 2007 (ULDA Act) was repealed and replaced with the Economic Development Act 2012 (ED Act). From then on land areas identified for priority development were referred to as PDAs not UDAs and existing UDAs were transitioned under the ED Act. Any reference to the term UDA on this website is taken to mean a transitioned UDA.
