Toowoomba Railway Parklands

Key details

The Toowoomba Railway Parklands Priority Development Area (PDA) aims to develop as an active, high quality, mixed density urban village which will reinforce and frame the Toowoomba CBD core area.

Located north of Toowoomba's CBD it covers approximately 50 hectares.

The PDA was declared on 12 December 2014 at the request of Toowoomba Regional Council

Development scheme

The Toowoomba Railway Parklands PDA Development Scheme amendment no. 1 (PDF icon 14.3 MB) is the regulatory document that assists with planning, carrying out, promoting, coordinating and controlling land development within the PDA.

The development scheme came into effect on 28 January 2016 and was amended on 24 July 2020 at the request of Toowoomba Regional Council.

Development assessment

Toowoomba Regional Council assesses development applications for this PDA.

All development applications are assessed against the development scheme.

Infrastructure

Funding and building infrastructure is key to facilitating development within PDAs and is outlined in the Infrastructure Funding Framework ( 1.4 MB).

The Toowoomba Railway Parklands PDA Development Scheme includes an infrastructure plan to ensure appropriate infrastructure is in place to support this growing and dynamic area.

Infrastructure charges are set out in Toowoomba Regional Council's applicable charges resolution.
