Roma Street Cross River Rail
The Roma Street Cross River Rail (CRR) Priority Development Area (PDA) is approximately 32 hectares and is located on the outer edge of Brisbane’s city centre. The PDA facilitates development surrounding the Roma Street Cross River Rail station.
The PDA includes state-owned land holdings, state transport corridors and roads, and other land in and around the Roma Street Cross River Rail station.
The PDA provides the opportunity to reconnect the area with the city centre, Spring Hill and Petrie Terrace, and with the Brisbane River and Kurilpa Bridge.
The Roma Street Cross River Rail (CRR) Priority Development Area (PDA) was declared on 13 December 2019 at the request of the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority.
The Roma Street PDA Development Scheme ( 28 MB) is the regulatory document which assists with planning, carrying out, promoting, coordinating and controlling development within the PDA.
The development scheme came into effect on 30 July 2021.
The Proposed Roma Street CRR PDA Development Scheme ( 24.7 MB) was available for public comment between 18 February to 1 April 2021. The Roma Street CRR PDA Submission Report ( 3.1 MB) summarises the submissions made during the submission period and how these submissions were considered in the making of the development scheme.
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority assesses development applications for this PDA.
All development applications are assessed against the Roma Street Cross River Rail PDA development scheme.
Funding and building infrastructure is key to facilitating development within PDAs.
The Roma Street Cross River Rail PDA Development Charges and Offset Plan (DCOP) ( 6.9 MB) accompanies the PDA development scheme. It identifies relevant development charges, how these charges are calculated, levied and administered, and the trunk infrastructure required to service the PDA.
You can also view the Roma Street Cross River Rail PDA Infrastructure Plan and Background Report ( 6.9 MB).
