Moranbah

Key details

The Moranbah Priority Development Area (PDA) aims to facilitate land for housing and other urban development. It includes sites within the existing Moranbah town as well as a large site to the west of Goonyella Road.

It covers 1218 hectares and is located in the Isaac Regional Council area, approximately 200 kilometres south-west of Mackay in Central Queensland.

The PDA was declared on 30 July 2010.

Development scheme

The development scheme is the regulatory document which assists with planning, carrying out, promoting, coordinating and controlling land development within the PDA.

The Moranbah PDA Development Scheme (PDF icon 5.32 MB) commenced on 29 July 2011.

Development assessment

Isaac Regional Council (IRC) assesses development applications for this PDA.

Infrastructure

Funding and building infrastructure is key to facilitating development within PDAs and is outlined in the Infrastructure Funding Framework ( 1.4 MB).

Development project

Bushlark Grove was established in 2011 to deliver aresidential development in the Moranbah PDA.

The estate wascreated to deliver a diverse range of high quality, smartly designed and well-priced homes and living options to support the growing population in the region.

EDQ facilitated the land supply and infrastructureneeded to buildan ecologically sustainable residential development.

Bushlark Grove sold out in April 2021. The completed development includes 175 homes, parks and open green spaceall locatedwithin close proximity to retail and community facilities, primary and secondary schools, and child care.
