Since December 2015, the Building our Regions program has allocated $225 million across 174 projects that will deliver tangible benefits to regional Queensland communities.

Funded projects are spread across 62 local government areas and make a massive difference in regional Queensland.

Projects range from water, waste and sewerage to cultural, sports and recreation projects, and airport upgrades to flood mitigation programs. They offer communities benefits such as:

  • securing water supply
  • increasing flood immunity
  • improving recreational and tourism offerings
  • extending accessibility to remote areas
  • enabling future industry
  • facilitating high-speed internet and telecommunications
  • supporting liveability.
