The Queensland Government's extensive public consultation on Queen's Wharf Brisbane began as far back as May 2013 when a comprehensive community engagement process commenced. This included:

  • online surveys
  • community reference groups
  • formal public consultations
  • industry engagement with peak property, heritage and development bodies
  • interactive workshops
  • regional showcase
  • social media
  • monthly newsletters
  • print and online advertisements
  • a dedicated project shop front open weekdays to the community
  • engagement with the Indigenous community
  • a number of Statutory submissions.

In 2015 Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) commenced public notification of the proposed development scheme for the Queen's Wharf Brisbane Priority Development Area (PDA). During the submission period all interested parties were invited to view the proposed development scheme and make a written submission for consideration by the Minister for Economic Development Queensland. As part of this process, EDQ also held three information displays open to the public for direct face-to-face contact with the EDQ team.

The Queensland Government also called for submissions on the Queen's Wharf Brisbane Bill 2015 and on the Brisbane Casino Agreement Amendment Bill 2016.
