The ARC Centre of Excellence for Robotic Vision aims to develop the underlying science and technologies that will enable robots to see, understand their environment using the sense of vision, and perform useful tasks in the complex, unstructured and dynamically changing environments in which we live and work. With an initial focus on agricultural applications, the centre's four key research objectives encompass robust vision, vision and action, semantic vision, and algorithms and architectures. The centre welcomes collaboration with industry on projects that will lead to the deployment of autonomous robots to address a variety of challenges.

The Queensland Quantum Optics Laboratory - ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQuS)
The Queensland Quantum Optics Laboratory is part of the University of Queensland's ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQuS). It undertakes research in the quantum physics of microscale optical devices, with the aim of testing fundamental physics and developing quantum technologies with future applications in metrology, communication, and computation. The lab has Australia's only fabrication facilities for silicon chip-based ultrahigh quality optical microcavities, and is one of only a few such facilities in the world.
University of Southern Queensland hypersonic wind tunnel
The University of Southern Queensland, based in Toowoomba, has the only supersonic to hypersonic wind tunnel in Australia. The tunnel facilitates the investigation of unsteady hypersonic aerodynamic effects due to its flow duration.
AMPAM provides a focus for the University of Queensland and its partners' materials engineering and manufacturing activities. The centre capitalises on emerging trends in manufacturing research where innovations in material developments are driving new combinations of metals, polymers, ceramics and composites that have not before been economically possible. Collaboration between researchers and industry facilitates the blending of technologies and processes to create unique opportunities for materials development, processing and manufacturing.
The Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation (QCIF) provides high-performance services, infrastructure and support to drive excellence in computation and data-driven collaborative research and its application in industry. Its membership comprises six Queensland universities.
The Queensland Micro- and Nanotechnology Centre has expertise in the fundamental theory of materials, materials development, microelectronics, micro electromechanical systems (MEMS) and microfluidics.
QCAT facilitates innovation and technology development between research providers, government institutions and industry. Its autonomous systems laboratory leads research in the areas of field robotics and sensor networks and is developing new techniques for 3D perception and localisation, autonomous control of machines, and the operation of large-scale outdoor wireless sensor networks. The laboratory aims to produce novel solutions to practical problems in fields such as environmental monitoring, agriculture, mining, manufacturing and the energy sector.
