The opportunity to redevelop the Police-Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) site at Fortitude Valley is being offered to the private sector.
Since 1965 the PCYC has been playing an important role in fostering the development of local young people through a range of services and programs, including sport, youth leadership and crime-prevention.
The facility, located at 458 Wickham Street, is over 50 years old and the government is now seeking to work with a private sector proponent to deliver a new PCYC that will bring jobs during construction, improved services to those who use the facility and better outcomes for the broader community.
Expression of Interest is now closed
An Expression of Interest campaign, which commenced on 8 December 2016, closed on 14 February 2017.
Submissions are currently being assessed to identify shortlisted proponents who will be invited to enter the next stage of the competitive process and submit detailed proposals for the project. The aim of the process will be to identify a proponent to deliver a new PCYC facility for the community, in exchange for development rights on the existing site.
Shortlisted proponents are expected to be identified by March 2017.
