Accelerated Works Program for northern Queensland
As part of the Queensland Government's Accelerated Works Program, the Department of Transport and Main Roads is bringing forward 11 infrastructure projects to generate jobs in northern Queensland.

What is included in the Worker Transition Scheme?
The Queensland Government is committed to supporting workers and their families affected by changing employment conditions.
The Worker Transition Scheme (WTS) has been developed to coordinate the Queensland Government's response, and provides assistance and information to workers as they transition to alternative employment.
The Director-General, Department of State Development, has been appointed as the Government Champion and will lead the Queensland Government's response efforts. The Director-General will lead a Rapid Response Team of senior officials appointed to coordinate and implement the Queensland Government's response. The Queensland Government's response includes:
- Assisting with access to financial assistance
- Information and support for job seekers
- Training and career information
- Support for supply chain businesses
- Help with debt and bills
- Access to mental health services
The Queensland Government will also consider the broader impact of changing conditions on the community and will work closely with impacted businesses.
