This project has delivered Stage 1 of the Eromanga Natural History Museum, which will establish itself as Australia's pre-eminent fossil megafauna museum and interpretation centre. The museum will also be a major tourist attraction. Stage 1 has built a fossil preparation, processing and storage facility and an accommodation complex for staff, researchers and volunteers. The storage facility will help to house the tonnes of fossils that have been discovered through oil and gas exploration and production in the region. This will support exploration and production approvals, which include significant conditions governing the recording, protection and appropriate storage of fossils.
