- Round: 2
Population and economic growth in Emerald and the Central Highlands region will be supported by an upgrade to the Black Gully Waste Water Treatment Plant.
The current plant is under pressure, receiving almost twice its hydraulic capacity. This essential upgrade will increase the Black Gully Waste Water Treatment Plant’s capacity to 10,000 equivalent people and enable it to produce Class C disinfected recycled water. This will be achieved by upgrading the existing inlet works, constructing a new process bioreactor and effluent lift pump station, and installing an aerated digester and new electrical instrumentation to support equipment onsite.
