Charleville Levee Bank Erosion Remediation
- Council: Murweh Shire Council
- Fund: Remote and Indigenous Communities Fund
- Category: Flood Mitigation Infrastructure
- Round: 2
The levee has proved itself invaluable in protecting Charleville. With the levee’s integrity reinforced, businesses can rely on continual protection during flooding events, meaning they can remain in the area with confidence and plan for future growth.
The levee bank will be strengthened to extend its lifespan. These flood mitigation works will enable continued protection of the people and properties of Charleville from heavy rains and flooding.
The project includes re-grading of sections of the bank, re-filling of cracks and sinkholes, removal of compromised material and replacing as necessary and stabilising the bank with grass.
