As Queensland continues to grow and change, we are working with councils and industry to plan for and deliver housing where it is most needed and to create liveable communities for people.

Taking action

The Queensland Government is investing almost $4 billion in social and affordable housing to increase housing through new initiatives and actions in the private and social and affordable housing supply, as well as continuing to deliver on a range of existing initiatives and programs.

  • Additional $1 billion doubling the Housing Investment Fund to $2 billion

  • 5,600 new social and affordable home commencements by 30 June 2027

  • $56 million in new housing supply and housing support initiatives
