The Royalties for the Regions program ran over four years from 2012–13 to 2015–16 and provided support for infrastructure projects that addressed identified local needs. The Royalties for the Regions program has now closed. Work continues on infrastructure projects funded under the program, including successful Round 4 projects.
The Queensland Government continues to support regional communities by replacing the Royalties for the Regions program with a regional infrastructure funding program called Building our Regions.
Four focused infrastructure initiatives make up the $375 million Building our Regions program:
- Regional Capital Fund
- Royalties for Resource Producing Communities Fund
- Remote Communities Infrastructure Fund
- Transport and Infrastructure Development Scheme.
