The Queensland Development Code consolidates Queensland-specific building standards into a single document. The code covers Queensland matters outside the scope of, and in addition to, the Building Code of Australia, such as requirements for private health facilities.

- Current parts - These are the parts that are currently in effect. They include both mandatory (i.e. those that have legislative effect) and non-mandatory (i.e. advisory only) parts.
- Draft and pending parts - These parts are made available in draft form for consultation purposes or because an approval is pending.
- Superseded parts - These parts have been removed or replaced and provide a record of past building standards.
